The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the New Ulm Cathedral Greyhounds (New Ulm, MN) and the visiting Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds (Winthrop, MN), observed New Ulm Cathedral's basketball team overcome Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop by a margin of 53-35.

The Greyhounds (2-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Springfield (Springfield, MN). The Tigers come into the A Section 2 challenge with a 8-4 record. In their last challenge, Springfield defeated Sleepy Eye (Sleepy Eye, MN), 66-63, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Thunderbirds battle the Madelia Blackhawks (Madelia, MN) in a A Section 2 challenge, on Monday, January 13. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will attempt to better on its 2-10 season record. The Blackhawks come into the challenge with a 2-12 record after their 70-24 league loss to Martin County West (Sherburn, MN).
