The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Lakeview Bulldogs (Cortland, OH) and the host Girard Indians (Girard, OH), observed Lakeview's basketball team knock off Girard by a score of 42-30.

The Bulldogs (7-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Brookfield (Brookfield, OH). The Warriors come into the non-league challenge with a 1-8 record. In their last challenge, Brookfield dropped by Southeast (Ravenna, OH), 47-11, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Indians battle the Hubbard Eagles (Hubbard, OH) in a Northeast Eight challenge, on Monday, January 13. Girard will attempt to improve on its 6-6 season record.
