The crowd at Thursday's league challenge between the Quaker Valley Quakers (Leetsdale, PA) and the visiting Mohawk Area Warriors (Bessemer, PA), observed Quaker Valley's basketball team overwhelm Mohawk Area by a score of 51-6.

The Quakers (6-6) will now prepare for their challenge against Ellwood City (Ellwood City, PA). The Wolverine come into the WPIAL 3A 1 challenge with a 8-4 record. In their last challenge, Ellwood City trounced Beaver Falls (Beaver Falls, PA), 53-51, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Warriors encounter the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Chargers (Coraopolis, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 1 challenge, on Monday, January 13. Mohawk Area will attempt to improve on its 1-6 season record. The Chargers come into the challenge with a 11-2 record after their 71-12 league win over New Brighton (New Brighton, PA).
