Simpson Academy Cougars (Mendenhall, MS) supporters left the game happy Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad triumph over the visiting Wayne Academy Jaguars (Waynesboro, MS), 69-30 in a league match.

With the victory, Simpson Academy advances its record to 16-4 on the year. The Cougars travel to Pillow Academy (Greenwood, MS) to meet the Mustangs in a non-league match on Saturday, January 11. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 14-5. Pillow Academy won 65-32 in their recent league match against Bayou Academy (Cleveland, MS)

The Jaguars now own a 6-19 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Park Place Christian Academy for a MAIS 5A District 2 match on Tuesday, January 14. Wayne Academy will meet a Crusaders squad coming off a 54-16 league loss to East Rankin Academy (Pelahatchie, MS). The Crusaders record now stands at 7-13.
