The Waterloo West Wahawks basketball team scored 72 points and limited the host Waterloo East Trojans to 34 in the Wahawks league triumph on Thursday.

The Wahawks now have a 5-5 record. They play next when they travel to Linn-Mar for a Mississippi Valley game on Friday, January 10. Waterloo West will confront a Lions team coming off a 53-45 league loss to Wahlert (Dubuque, IA). The Lions record now stands at 2-9.

With the loss, Waterloo East falls to 2-5 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Mason City (Mason City, IA) to confront the Mohawks in a non-league game on Friday, January 10. The Mohawks go into the game with a record of 6-4. Mason City won 53-38 in their recent non-league challenge against Spencer (Spencer, IA)
