With the win, Laney improves its record to 9-5 on the season. The Buccaneers host New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to encounter the Wildcats in a non-league test on Thursday, October 3. The Wildcats go into the test with a record of 7-8. New Hanover won 2-1 in their recent non-league test against North Brunswick (Leland, NC)

The Cougars now own a 9-5 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Topsail for a test on Thursday, October 3. South Brunswick will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 2-0 non-league win over Coastal Christian (Wilmington, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 15-2.
