The Washingtonville Wizards soccer squad scored 5 points and held the visiting Monticello Panthers to 1 in the Wizards league victory on Tuesday.
The Wizards now hold a 7-1 record. They play next when they travel to Newburgh Free Academy for a non-league bout on Saturday, October 5. Washingtonville will play a Goldbacks squad coming off a 3-1 league win over Pine Bush (Pine Bush, NY). The Goldbacks record now stands at 7-2.
With the loss, Monticello moves to 1-10 on the year. The Panthers host Minisink Valley (Slate Hill, NY) to play the Warriors in a Section 9 Division III bout on Monday, October 7. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 1-10.
