The Platte County Pirates triumphed over the host Raytown Bluejays softball squad by a count of 18-1 in Tuesday's league challenge.

Next, the Pirates play the Fort Osage Indians (Independence, MO) in a non-league challenge, on Thursday, October 3. Platte County will attempt to upgrade on its 14-5 season record. The Indians enter the challenge with a 10-15 record after their 10-0 non-league loss to Grain Valley (Grain Valley, MO).

The Bluejays (2-10) will now prepare for their challenge against Ruskin (Kansas City, MO). The Golden Eagles enter the non-league challenge with a 0-17 record. In their last challenge, Ruskin was routed by Truman (Independence, MO), 15-0, in a non-league challenge.
