Fans at Wednesday's non-league contest between the Riverside-Durham Pirates (Durham, NC) and the host Hillside Hornets (Durham, NC), observed Riverside-Durham's volleyball team top Hillside by a count of 2-0.

The Pirates (10-3) will now prepare for their contest against Southern School of Energy and Sustainability (Durham, NC). The Spartans go into the non-league battle with a 1-9 record. In their last battle, Southern School of Energy and Sustainability was defeated by Northern Durham (Durham, NC), 2-0, in a non-league battle.

The Hornets now own a 0-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Durham School of the Arts for a non-league challenge on Monday, October 6. Hillside will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 2-0 league loss to Orange (Hillsborough, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 7-12.
