Fans at Wednesday's league contest between the Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech Dragons (Petersburg, VA) and the host Surry County Cougars (Dendron, VA), observed Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech's volleyball team hold off Surry County by a count of 3-2.

The Dragons (8-2) will now prepare for their contest against Thomas Jefferson (Richmond, VA). The Vikings go into the non-league battle with a 5-6 record. In their last battle, Thomas Jefferson was edged by Highland Springs (Highland Springs, VA), 3-0, in a non-league battle.

The Cougars now own a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Cumberland for a non-league battle on Monday, October 6. Surry County will encounter a Dukes squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Randolph-Henry (Charlotte Court House, VA). The Dukes record now stands at 6-8.
