In Wednesday's league challenge, the visiting Newburyport Clippers volleyball team scored a 3-1 victory over the Essex Tech Hawks.
The Clippers (10-3) will now prepare for their challenge against Ipswich (Ipswich, MA). The Tigers go into the Cape Ann test with a 3-9 record. In their last test, Ipswich was defeated by Melrose (Melrose, MA), 3-1, in a non-league test.
The Hawks now own a 5-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Revere for a non-league test on Friday, October 3. Essex Tech will face a Patriots squad coming off a 3-0 league win over Lynn English (Lynn, MA). The Patriots record now stands at 10-2.
