The Alexander Central Cougars held off the visiting South Caldwell Spartans volleyball team by a score of 2-1 in Monday's non-league test.

The Cougars now have a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hibriten for a non-league test on Wednesday, October 12.

The Spartans (9-10) will now prepare for their test against Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC). The Huskies enter the non-league test with a 12-1 record. In their last test, Ashe County held off Freedom (Morganton, NC), 2-0, in a non-league test.
