Fans at Thursday's league battle between the Mars Fightin' Planets (Mars, PA) and the host Knoch Knights (Saxonburg, PA), saw Mars's soccer squad hold off Knoch by a score of 2-1.

The Fightin' Planets (12-2) will now prepare for their battle against Pine-Richland (Gibsonia, PA). The Rams enter the non-league battle with a 7-9 record. In their last battle, Pine-Richland tipped North Hills (Pittsburgh, PA), 2-1, in a league battle.

Next up, the Knights confront the Hampton Talbots (Allison Park, PA) in a WPIAL AAA 1 battle, on Tuesday, October 15. Knoch will attempt to improve on its 5-10 season record.
