The Newman Greenies volleyball team scored 3 points and restricted the host Academy of the Sacred Heart Cardinals to 1 in the Greenies league triumph on Thursday.

The Greenies now possess a 14-6 record. They play next when they travel to Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy for a non-league outing on Wednesday, October 16. Newman will play a Swamp Owls team coming off a 3-1 league win over Willow (New Orleans, LA). The Swamp Owls record now stands at 21-3.

With the loss, Academy of the Sacred Heart drops to 19-5 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Metairie Park Country Day (Metairie, LA) to play the Cajuns in a non-league outing on Monday, October 14. The Cajuns come into the outing with a record of 18-7. Metairie Park Country Day won 3-0 in their recent non-league outing against St. Scholastica (Covington, LA)
