In Thursday's league challenge, the visiting South Park Eagles volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Carlynton Cougars.

The Eagles (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA). The Gladiators come into the WPIAL 2A 2 challenge with a 15-4 record. In their last challenge, South Allegheny edged Sto-Rox (McKees Rocks, PA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cougars meet the Seton LaSalle Rebels (Pittsburgh, PA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Carlynton will attempt to upgrade on its 5-4 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 1-2 record after their 3-2 league win over South Allegheny (McKeesport, PA).
