Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Chartiers Valley Colts (Bridgeville, PA) and the host Moon Area Tigers (Moon Township, PA), observed Chartiers Valley's volleyball team hold off Moon Area by a tally of 2-1.

The Colts (2-0) will now prepare for their contest against Montour (McKees Rocks, PA). The Spartans enter the WPIAL 3A 2 contest with a 3-1 record.

Next, the Tigers meet the West Allegheny Indians (Imperial, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 2 contest, on Tuesday, October 15. Moon Area will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record.
