Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Hurley Rebels (Hurley, VA) and the visiting Council Cobras (Council, VA), observed Hurley's volleyball team hold off Council by a count of 3-2.

The Rebels (1-11) will now prepare for their contest against Montcalm (Montcalm, WV). The Generals enter the non-league contest with a 2-5 record. In their last contest, Montcalm was tipped by Charleston Catholic (Charleston, WV), 2-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Cobras meet the Jenkins Cavaliers (Jenkins, KY) in a non-league contest, on Monday, October 14. Council will attempt to move on its 1-12 season record. The Cavaliers enter the contest with a 7-8 record after their 0-0 non-league Belfry (Belfry, KY).
