In Thursday's league challenge, the host Deep Creek Hornets volleyball team scored a 3-0 victory over the Lakeland Cavaliers.

The Hornets (6-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Great Bridge (Chesapeake, VA). The Wildcats enter the Southeastern challenge with a 9-8 record. In their last challenge, Great Bridge was beaten by Hickory (Chesapeake, VA), 3-2, in a league challenge.

Next, the Cavaliers meet the Western Branch Bruins (Chesapeake, VA) in a Southeastern challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Lakeland will attempt to improve on its 4-14 season record. The Bruins go into the battle with a 7-9 record after their 3-1 league win over King's Fork (Suffolk, VA).
