Gallatin County Hawks (Junction, IL) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad nudge the host Galatia Bearcats (Galatia, IL), 2-1 in a league test.

With the win, Gallatin County improves its record to 6-9 on the season. The Hawks travel to Norris City-Omaha-Enfield (Norris City, IL) to face the Fighting Cardinals in a Greater Egyptian test on Tuesday, October 15. The Fighting Cardinals go into the test with a record of 24-1.

The Bearcats now own a 4-23 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Carrier Mills-Stonefort for a non-league test on Saturday, October 12. Galatia will face a Wildcats squad coming off a 2-1 non-league win over Goreville (Goreville, IL). The Wildcats record now stands at 17-5.
