The Gibson County Pioneers prevailed the visiting Union City Golden Tornadoes volleyball squad by a final score of 3-1 in Thursday's league challenge.

The Pioneers (15-2) will now prepare for their challenge against Crosstown (Memphis, TN). The Explorers come into the non-league challenge with a 4-1 record. In their last challenge, Crosstown beat Freedom Prep Academy (Memphis, TN), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Golden Tornadoes play the Memphis Academy of Science and Engineering Phoenix (Memphis, TN) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, October 14. Union City will attempt to upgrade on its 13-5 season record. The Phoenix come into the challenge with a 15-2 record after their 3-0 non-league win over Middle College (Memphis, TN).
