Fans at Thursday's league contest between the Hondo Valley Eagles (Hondo, NM) and the visiting Mountainair Mustangs (Mountainair, NM), observed Hondo Valley's volleyball team top Mountainair by a count of 3-0.

The Eagles (5-9) will now prepare for their contest against Alamo Navajo (Magdalena, NM). The Cougars enter the 1A District 3 contest with a 6-9 record. In their last contest, Alamo Navajo was knocked off by Magdalena (Magdalena, NM), 3-0, in a non-league contest.

Next, the Mustangs battle the Carrizozo Grizzlies (Carrizozo, NM) in a 1A District 3 contest, on Saturday, October 12. Mountainair will attempt to move on its 2-12 season record. The Grizzlies enter the contest with a 0-13 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Animas (Animas, NM).
