The St. Helena College and Career Academy Hawks volleyball squad (Greensburg, LA), was defeated 3-1 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting Independence Tigers (Independence, LA)

With the win, Independence improves its record to 3-9 on the season. The Tigers travel to East Iberville (St. Gabriel, LA) to encounter the Tigers in a non-league battle on Saturday, October 12. The Tigers go into the battle with a record of 7-4.

The Hawks now own a 1-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Amite for a Division IV District 7 battle on Tuesday, October 15. St. Helena College and Career Academy will encounter a Warriors squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond, LA). The Warriors record now stands at 5-8.
