In Thursday's non-league challenge, the visiting Montclair Kimberley Academy Cougars volleyball team scored a close 2-1 triumph over the Newark Academy Minutemen.

The Cougars (6-7) will now prepare for their challenge against Secaucus (Secaucus, NJ). The Patriots come into the non-league challenge with a 18-0 record. In their last challenge, Secaucus edged St. Mary (Rutherford, NJ), 2-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Minutemen meet the Rutgers Prep Argonauts (Somerset, NJ) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, October 15. Newark Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 3-11 season record. The Argonauts come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 2-0 non-league win over Phillipsburg (Phillipsburg, NJ).
