In Friday's non-league challenge, the host Valley Central Vikings volleyball squad scored a 3-1 win over the Newburgh Free Academy Goldbacks.
With the win, Valley Central improves its record to 11-2 on the season. The Vikings travel to Kingston (Kingston, NY) to face the Tigers in a non-league test on Wednesday, October 15. The Tigers go into the test with a record of 5-9. Kingston won 3-2 in their recent league test against Monroe-Woodbury (Central Valley, NY)
The Goldbacks now own a 9-4 record. They play next when they travel to Middletown for a Section 9 Orange County I challenge on Wednesday, October 15. Newburgh Free Academy will meet a Middie Bears team coming off a 3-0 league loss to Pine Bush (Pine Bush, NY). The Middie Bears record now stands at 1-11.
