In Tuesday's non-league battle, the host Alleghany Mountaineers volleyball team scored a tight 2-1 triumph over the James River Knights.
The Mountaineers (4-1) will now prepare for their battle against Radford (Radford, VA). The Bobcats come into the non-league battle with a 2-7 record. In their last battle, Radford nudged James River (Buchanan, VA), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Knights clash with the Radford Bobcats (Radford, VA) in a non-league battle, on Wednesday, October 12. James River will attempt to advance on its 7-3 season record. The Bobcats come into the battle with a 1-7 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Glenvar (Salem, VA).
