With the win, East Wilkes advances its record to 8-10 on the campaign. The Cardinals travel to Mount Airy (Mount Airy, NC) to play the Granite Bears in a Northwest 1A outing on Thursday, October 12. The Granite Bears go into the outing with a record of 14-0. Mount Airy won 9-0 in their recent league outing against North Stokes (Danbury, NC)

In their next game, the Trojans play the Elkin Buckin' Elks (Elkin, NC) in a Northwest 1A outing, on Monday, October 16. Alleghany will attempt to advance on its 1-11 season record. The Buckin' Elks go into the outing with a 13-3 record after their 4-1 non-league win over East Surry (Pilot Mountain, NC).
