Madison Patriots (Marshall, NC) fans were pleased Wednesday as they observed their soccer team knock off the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), 3-1 in a league challenge.

Next, the Patriots confront the Avery County Vikings (Newland, NC) in a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge, on Monday, October 16. Madison will attempt to better on its 7-8 season record. The Vikings enter the challenge with a 10-2 record after their 4-3 league win over Mountain Heritage (Burnsville, NC).

The Wildcats now have a 3-14 record. They take the field next when they host NCSSM: Morganton for a Western Highlands 1A/2A challenge on Wednesday, October 18.
