In Wednesday's league battle, the host Swampscott Big Blue volleyball team scored a tight 3-2 triumph over the Saugus Sachems.

The Big Blue (8-4) will now prepare for their battle against Hamilton-Wenham Regional (South Hamilton, MA). The Generals come into the Cape Ann battle with a 10-3 record. In their last battle, Hamilton-Wenham Regional nudged Lynnfield (Lynnfield, MA), 3-2, in a league battle.

Next, the Sachems clash with the Northeast Metro RVT Knights (Wakefield, MA) in a Commonwealth Lower battle, on Friday, October 13. Saugus will attempt to advance on its 7-5 season record. The Knights come into the battle with a 7-4 record after their 3-1 league win over Academy of Notre Dame (Tyngsborough, MA).
