Taft Toreadors (Woodland Hills, CA) backers were pleased Saturday as they witnessed their volleyball team tip the host Birmingham Patriots (Lake Balboa, CA), 1-0 in a non-league challenge.

The Toreadors (32-12) will now prepare for their challenge against University (Los Angeles, CA). The Wildcats come into the non-league challenge with a 13-5 record. In their last challenge, University edged Los Angeles CES (Los Angeles, CA), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Patriots play the Granada Hills Charter Highlanders (Granada Hills, CA) in a West Valley challenge, on Wednesday, October 15. Birmingham will attempt to upgrade on its 3-22 season record. The Highlanders come into the challenge with a 21-16 record after their 3-0 league loss to Taft (Woodland Hills, CA).
