In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Homer Mariners volleyball squad scored a 2-0 win over the Monroe Catholic Rams.
Next up, the Mariners face the Valdez Buccaneers (Valdez, AK) in a non-league game, on Saturday, October 11. Homer will attempt to advance on its 18-12 season record. The Buccaneers go into the game with a 30-7 record after their 1-0 non-league win over Bethel (Bethel, AK).
The Rams (12-6) will now prepare for their outing against Hutchison (Fairbanks, AK). The Hawks come into the 3A Aurora outing with a 3-14 record. In their last outing, Hutchison beat Galena (Galena, AK), 3-0, in a league outing.
