The Jackson Fighting Indians softball squad (Jackson, MO), was edged 9-8 in Saturday's non-league contest with the host Lafayette Lancers (Wildwood, MO)

With the triumph, Lafayette improves its record to 27-5 on the year. The Lancers travel to Troy-Buchanan (Troy, MO) to face the Trojans in a non-league contest on Monday, October 14. The Trojans enter the contest with a record of 20-5.

The Fighting Indians (27-9) will now prepare for their test against Kelly (Benton, MO). The Hawks go into the non-league test with a 15-13 record. In their last test, Kelly was nudged by Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau, MO), 6-5, in a non-league test.
