In Saturday's non-league challenge, the host Barrow Whalers volleyball team scored a close 1-0 triumph over the Mountain City Christian Academy Lions.

The Whalers (6-14) will now prepare for their challenge against Mountain City Christian Academy (Anchorage, AK). The Lions come into the non-league challenge with a 13-16 record. In their last challenge, Mountain City Christian Academy edged Nikiski (Nikiski, AK), 1-0, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Lions play the Monroe Catholic Rams (Fairbanks, AK) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, October 12. Mountain City Christian Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 18-22 season record. The Rams come into the challenge with a 13-14 record after their 3-0 non-league loss to Sitka (Sitka, AK).
