Gillespie Miners (Gillespie, IL) boosters left the game satisfied Saturday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host North Mac Panthers (Virden, IL), 2-0 in a non-league test.

With the win, Gillespie improves its record to 7-18 on the season. The Miners travel to Staunton (Staunton, IL) to face the Bulldogs in a South Central test on Tuesday, October 15. The Bulldogs go into the test with a record of 19-6. Staunton lost 2-1 in their recent non-league test against Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon, IL)

The Panthers now own a 8-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Hillsboro for a South Central test on Thursday, October 17. North Mac will face a Hiltoppers squad coming off a 2-0 league win over Greenville (Greenville, IL). The Hiltoppers record now stands at 18-10.
