In Saturday's non-league challenge, the visiting Glendale Nitros volleyball team scored a close 1-0 triumph over the Sylmar Spartans.

The Nitros (30-4) will now prepare for their challenge against Crescenta Valley (La Crescenta, CA). The Falcons come into the Pacific challenge with a 33-6 record. In their last challenge, Crescenta Valley edged Marshall (Los Angeles, CA), 3-1, in a non-league challenge.

Next, the Spartans meet the Kennedy Cougars (Granada Hills, CA) in a Valley Mission challenge, on Monday, October 14. Sylmar will attempt to upgrade on its 19-19 season record. The Cougars come into the challenge with a 21-9 record after their 2-0 non-league loss to Clovis West (Fresno, CA).
