In Saturday's league challenge, the visiting Springer Red Devils volleyball team scored a close 3-2 triumph over the Maxwell Bears.
The Red Devils (8-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Des Moines (Des Moines, NM). The Demons come into the 1A District 5 challenge with a 7-7 record. In their last challenge, Des Moines was nudged by Roy/Mosquero (Roy, NM), 3-0, in a league challenge.
Next, the Bears meet the Cimarron Rams (Cimarron, NM) in a 1A District 5 challenge, on Friday, October 18. Maxwell will attempt to upgrade on its 10-5 season record.
