The Hoggard Vikings held off the host Ashley Screaming Eagle soccer squad by a margin of 4-3 in Thursday's league match.
The Vikings now sport a 15-1 record. They play next when they travel to Topsail for a Mideastern 3A/4A match on Tuesday, October 18. Hoggard will encounter a Pirates squad coming off a 4-1 league loss to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC). The Pirates record now stands at 11-4.
With the loss, Ashley drops to 10-7 on the season. The Screaming eagle travel to New Hanover (Wilmington, NC) to encounter the Wildcats in a Mideastern 3A/4A match on Monday, October 17. The Wildcats come into the match with a record of 12-3. New Hanover won 4-1 in their recent league match against Topsail (Hampstead, NC)
