The Lordsburg Mavericks topped the visiting Mescalero Apache Chiefs volleyball team by a score of 3-0 in Thursday's league test.
The Mavericks now have a 5-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Cloudcroft for a 2A District 3 test on Saturday, October 15. Lordsburg will confront a Bears team coming off a 3-1 league loss to Capitan (Capitan, NM). The Bears record now stands at 10-6.
The Chiefs (5-9) will now prepare for their test against Tularosa (Tularosa, NM). The Wildcats enter the 2A District 3 test with a 10-6 record. In their last test, Tularosa was knocked off by Capitan (Capitan, NM), 3-2, in a league test.
