The Los Alamos Hilltoppers volleyball team scored 3 points and limited the host Moriarty Pintos to 0 in the Hilltoppers league victory on Thursday.
The Hilltoppers now possess a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Hope Christian for a non-league game on Saturday, October 15. Los Alamos will meet a Huskies team coming off a 3-1 league win over Valley (Albuquerque, NM). The Huskies record now stands at 12-5.
The Pintos (12-6) will now prepare for their game against Taos (Taos, NM). The Tigers enter the 4A District 2 game with a 6-11 record. In their last game, Taos was dropped by Los Alamos (Los Alamos, NM), 3-0, in a league game.
Match Summary
Los Alamos made the trip into Moriarty against the Pintos on Thursday night. It was a solid performance by LA. The stable of hitters combined for a .300 hitting percentage led by Callie Goda and Ashley Hammond. Lina Passalacqua was able to finish the night with 33 assists and no ball handling errors. The brigade of back row defensive specialist had a solid performance led by Libero Anna Kirkland and her 13 points off serve, 82% dig percentage and 2.2 receive rating. The Toppers were able to hold off runs by the Pintos in each set to secure the win. Next up for the Toppers are the Hope Huskies this Saturday.
