The crowd at Thursday's league bout between the Maiden Blue Devils (Maiden, NC) and the host Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), saw Maiden's volleyball squad beat Newton-Conover by a tally of 3-0.

With the win, Maiden upgrades its record to 16-6 on the year. The Blue Devils host West Caldwell (Lenoir, NC) to play the Warriors in a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A bout on Monday, October 17. The Warriors go into the bout with a record of 0-20. West Caldwell lost 3-0 in their recent league bout against East Burke (Connelly Springs, NC)

The Red Devils now own a 8-10 record. They play next when they host Bunker Hill for a Catawba Valley Athletic 2A bout on Monday, October 17. Newton-Conover will play a Bears squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Bandys (Catawba, NC). The Bears record now stands at 5-15.
