In Friday's league game, the Pearl Pirates (Pearl, MS) football team were victorious over the host Petal Panthers (Petal, MS), by a score of 40-21.
The Pirates (6-1) will now prepare for their game against Brandon (Brandon, MS). The Bulldogs come into the 7A Region 3 game with a 5-2 record. In their last game, Brandon knocked off Oak Grove (Hattiesburg, MS), 38-20, in a league game.
The Panthers now sport a 3-4 record. They take the field next when they travel to Meridian for a 7A Region 3 game on Friday, October 20. Petal will meet a Wildcats team coming off a 38-31 league win over Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 4-4.
