The Branford Hornets (Branford, CT) volleyball overcame the visiting Mercy Tigers (Middletown, CT), 3-1 in Friday's league outing.

With the win, Branford upgrades its record to 9-5 on the year. The Hornets host North Branford (North Branford, CT) to face the Thunderbirds in a non-league outing on Saturday, October 14. The Thunderbirds go into the outing with a record of 7-6. North Branford lost 3-0 in their recent league outing against Haddam-Killingworth (Higganum, CT)

The Tigers now own a 5-10 record. They play next when they host East Haven for a non-league outing on Monday, October 16. Mercy will face a Yellowjackets squad coming off a 3-0 league loss to Cheshire (Cheshire, CT). The Yellowjackets record now stands at 2-15.
