In Friday's non-league battle, the host Columbia Eagles volleyball team scored a 2-0 triumph over the East St. Louis Flyers.
The Eagles (22-4) will now prepare for their battle against Breese Central (Breese, IL). The Cougars come into the non-league battle with a 27-4 record. In their last battle, Breese Central achieved victory over Pekin (Pekin, IL), 2-0, in a non-league battle.
Next, the Flyers clash with the Belleville East Lancers (Belleville, IL) in a Southwestern battle, on Tuesday, October 17. East St. Louis will attempt to advance on its 0-26 season record. The Lancers come into the battle with a 18-12 record after their 2-1 non-league loss to Rochester (Rochester, IL).
