Fitzgerald Purple Hurricane (Fitzgerald, GA) fans went home in high spirits Monday as they saw their flag football team achieve victory over the visiting Irwin County Indians (Ocilla, GA), 26-0 in a non-league battle.

With the win, Fitzgerald improves its record to 5-0 on the season. The Purple Hurricane host Montgomery County (Mt. Vernon, GA) to play the Eagles in a D1 Area 3 battle on Tuesday, October 14. The Eagles go into the battle with a record of 0-2. Montgomery County lost 47-0 in their recent league battle against Dodge County (Eastman, GA)

The Indians now have a 1-5 record. They play next when they travel to Thomasville for a D4 Area 1 battle on Tuesday, October 21. Irwin County will play a Bulldogs team coming off a 59-0 league loss to Thomas County Central (Thomasville, GA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-2.
