Fans at Monday's league battle between the Mt. Abraham Eagles (Bristol, VT) and the visiting Vergennes Commodores (Vergennes, VT), saw Mt. Abraham's soccer squad hold off Vergennes by a count of 3-2.
The Eagles (6-5) will now prepare for their battle against Milton (Milton, VT). The Yellowjackets come into the Lake match with a 4-8 record. In their last match, Milton was tipped by Bellows Free Academy (St. Albans, VT), 1-0, in a league match.
The Commodores now sport a 11-1 record. They take the field next when they host Missisquoi Valley for a Mountain match on Wednesday, October 15. Vergennes will confront a Thunderbirds squad coming off a 4-0 league win over Blue Mountain (Wells River, VT). The Thunderbirds record now stands at 5-4.
