Fans at Monday's non-league contest between the L.C. Bird Skyhawks (Chesterfield, VA) and the visiting Meadowbrook Monarchs (Richmond, VA), observed L.C. Bird's volleyball team top Meadowbrook by a count of 3-1.

The Skyhawks (1-13) will now prepare for their contest against Manchester (Midlothian, VA). The Lancers enter the Dominion contest with a 5-10 record. In their last contest, Manchester was knocked off by James River Midlothian (Midlothian, VA), 3-0, in a league contest.

Next, the Monarchs battle the Colonial Heights Colonials (Colonial Heights, VA) in a Central contest, on Tuesday, October 14. Meadowbrook will attempt to move on its 5-8 season record. The Colonials enter the contest with a 6-9 record after their 3-0 league loss to Thomas Dale (Chester, VA).
