In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Thomson Bulldogs football squad scored a close 15-14 victory over the Laney Wildcats.

In their next game, the Bulldogs clash with the Putnam County War Eagles (Eatonton, GA) in a AA Region 4A match, on Friday, October 21. Thomson will attempt to move on its 6-1 season record. The War Eagles enter the match with a 6-1 record after their 48-6 league win over Glenn Hills (Augusta, GA).

The Wildcats (6-1) will now prepare for their match against Westside (Augusta, GA). The Patriots enter the AA Region 4B match with a 1-6 record. In their last match, Westside was nudged by Washington County (Sandersville, GA), 35-3, in a league match.
