In Saturday's league contest, the West Hardin Oilers (Saratoga, TX) volleyball squad were winner over the host Deweyville Pirates (Deweyville, TX), by a count of 3-1.

The Oilers (20-11) will now prepare for their challenge against Evadale (Evadale, TX). The Rebels come into the 2A Region III District 24 challenge with a 19-11 record. In their last challenge, Evadale defeated Sabine Pass (Sabine Pass, TX), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Pirates encounter the Hull-Daisetta Bobcats (Daisetta, TX) in a 2A Region III District 24 challenge, on Tuesday, October 17. Deweyville will attempt to move on its 5-12 season record. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a 6-18 record after their 3-0 league loss to West Hardin (Saratoga, TX).
