The Bears (33-5) will now prepare for their challenge against Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX). The Cougars enter the 6A Region IV District 31 challenge with a 25-8 record. In their last challenge, Edinburg North defeated Mission (Mission, TX), 3-0, in a league challenge.

Next, the Coyotes meet the Edinburg Bobcats (Edinburg, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 31 challenge, on Tuesday, October 17. La Joya will attempt to move on its 1-23 season record. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a 23-15 record after their 3-0 league win over Economedes (Edinburg, TX).
