Fans at Monday's league battle between the Mount Pleasant Tigers (Mt. Pleasant, NC) and the host North Stanly Comets (New London, NC), saw Mount Pleasant's soccer squad hold off North Stanly by a count of 2-1.

The Tigers (6-11) will now prepare for their battle against Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cardinals enter the Yadkin Valley 1A/2A battle with a 11-5 record. In their last battle, Union Academy tipped South Stanly (Norwood, NC), 9-0, in a league battle.

Next up, the Comets battle the Albemarle Bulldogs (Albemarle, NC) in a Yadkin Valley 1A/2A battle, on Wednesday, October 16. North Stanly will attempt to upgrade on its 2-18 season record. The Bulldogs enter the battle with a 5-9 record after their 6-0 league loss to Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC).
