The Polk County Wolverines (Columbus, NC) soccer nipped the visiting R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), 3-2 in Monday's league challenge.
The Wolverines now hold a 9-2 record. They play next when they host Brevard for a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A challenge on Friday, October 18. Polk County will encounter a Blue Devils squad coming off a 8-0 league win over Chase (Forest City, NC). The Blue Devils record now stands at 12-3.
With the loss, R-S Central moves to 4-9 on the year. The Hilltoppers host Patton (Morganton, NC) to encounter the Panthers in a Mountain Foothills Seven 2A challenge on Wednesday, October 16. The Panthers go into the challenge with a record of 12-3. Patton won 5-0 in their recent league challenge against East Rutherford (Forest City, NC)
